Needle Prick Injury

This morning i woke up like 5:50 a.m. change out n all then i headed to hospital for my 2nd day of attachment. Things all went well until 8:30 a.m. while i was assisting the staff nurse to support the patient for blood withdral for urgent PT/PTT test. After the needle actually went into the patient's vein, he suddenly become restless n seriously swinging his hand around. So at the same time the needle actually pass through patient's skin n pricked my left ring finger. *OuCh* I thought it was nothing, secs later i realized that my finger was bleeding. Was a little panicked, cuz all the Hep B, Aids, MRSA n etc juz flooded into my mind. *GoSh* Anyways, Lum still unaware that i got pricked until i said that its bleeding. It was like how issit possible man? Hahaha...so the next thing i did was i removed gloves n Lum told me to squeeze out the blood to let the contaminated blood flow out. Luckily he told me that if not i will only wash my hand n put finger under running water. So i juz tried to squeeze as much of the contaminated blood out of my finger as possible...quite alot came out la. So kinda relieve, the next thing was that the staff nurse went to inform the sister.
*SiGh* Sister came n we told her exactly what happened. She felt sad cuz to her it was actually a preventable incident. Well, partially is my mistake la...Not the staff nurse. She is very nice, after i got pricked she felt extremely bad about it. Sister then told me to inform Ms Susan, then she brought me down to A&E for HIV & Hep B screening. These 2 screening are the most important ones. So i got my blood withdraw for specimen, later on the A&E Sister asked how much was my reaction for Hep B. I told her it was only 20 odd.
Sister said i should have another Hep B Booster 1. So i took it. I already had a pricked on my finger(plaster1), withdrawal of blood for specimen(plaster2) n inject Hep B Booster(plaster3). Yeah~ 3 plaster...is still alright, but it is on the same arm!! Lol....HAHAHAHAHAHA....Funny da? Alright, the staff nurse really felt very very bad. But i dint blame her la, juz that it is a lesson that both of us will have to learn. Then Jean n me only go for lunch at 2:00 p.m. lo.
Anyways, i got home like 4:30 p.m. very late. Cuz Jean n me were looking for case to work on lo. Hahaha...hard working? Yeah~ we are! Juz now juz chatted with dear, then he said that when the moment he saw his sms he quickly called me liao lo. He was so so so worried about me lo. *GoSh* Hehe....So sweet lo! AHAHAHA....anyways i gtg liao. Bye Bye!
